🎅 Speaking of Christmas, do you know what are the most desired Christmas gifts by U.S. consumers?
According to data released by Statista recently, money tops the list of most desired Christmas presents, followed closely by vouchers or gift cards.
This sort of proves the practicality of the average US consumer.

Following those, apparel items seem to be the highest in demand with 35% of all participants saying they want to get some kind of clothing piece. Good news for apparel DTCs, but it is not unexpected tho!
And the list continues with foods and drinks, electronics, books, and so on.

📈 Klaviyo reveals Gen Z is more optimistic about the economy and tends to spend more
Klaviyo recently published its annual Consumer Spending Report for 2023 in partnership with Qualtrics.
The report reveals interesting insights about how Gen Z perceives the future.
According to Klaviyo, younger consumers, particularly Gen Z and millennials, are more optimistic about the economy than older generations. Despite 91% of respondents being impacted by inflation in their current spending habits, the younger demographic is more likely to increase spending on discretionary items, little luxuries, "dupes," and gifts during the holiday season.
While 69% of all consumers state that inflation is affecting their future spending plans, Gen Zs and millennials are more positive about the economy, and they are more likely to increase their spending, especially during the holidays.
Finally, it seems consumers intend to predominantly shop online during the upcoming holiday season, especially in the months leading up to the holidays.
Anticipated holiday spending is expected to be consistent with previous years, with an average expenditure of $745 on holiday gifts.
