🙌🏻 Our first community event in Berlin
At D2CVille, it's all about the community, and we were super excited to finally host in-person events because we were all tired of webinars!
On May 29th, we hosted our first community event at a great Mediterranean tapas bar in Berlin, in partnership with Fabrikatör. It was an intimate, fun-filled gathering that created wonderful memories! We had 25 attendees from brands like Royfort, Moonchild, and Miralina, and everyone seemed to enjoy it as much as we did organizing it!
Here are some photos from the day:
Somehow, they found the only two minutes when I stepped out for some fresh air to take a group photo!
It was so much fun to finally meet some of our readers face-to-face!
Thank you to everyone who joined us. And hey, stay tuned for news about our upcoming events as we wanna do these regularly in the future!
How much is anonymous traffic costing your business?
For DTC brands, unidentified shoppers = untapped revenue.

💰 Faircado Raises $3.3 Million for AI-Powered reCommerce Platform
Faircado has secured €3 million (around $3.3 million) to expand its AI-driven reCommerce platform, designed to make secondhand shopping easier and more accessible.
Faircado’s mission is to help consumers save money and the planet by promoting secondhand purchases. Their AI-powered browser extension, available on Chrome, searches through 50 million products from over 55 partners, including eBay and Back Market, to find preowned items. It covers electronics, books, clothes, and more.
The extension uses AI to match product details with resale items, and Faircado’s AI bot, Gregor, acts like a personal shopping assistant, finding secondhand matches even without typical product codes. This service is free for users, while sellers pay a commission on each sale.
This news matters for D2C merchants because it highlights a significant shift in consumer behavior towards secondhand shopping. In the U.S., 40% of consumers bought a used item, and 31% sold a used item in the past year.
Can second-hand shopping be a significant alternative to traditional shopping?
🛋️ Amazon and Ikea dominate online furniture sales in Europe
This is not surprising news.
Amazon is the top online furniture retailer in the UK, Spain, and Italy, while Ikea leads in France and ranks highly in other European countries.
In Germany, however, local player Otto holds the top spot.
According to FoxIntelligence, the furniture market has seen a surge in interest post-pandemic, as people focus on upgrading their homes. More consumers are buying furniture online, valuing personalization, delivery options, and sustainability.
Marketplaces like Amazon and Ikea are benefiting the most from this shift, forcing traditional retailers to adapt. For example, Maisons du Monde launched its marketplace in 2022 to stay competitive.
